My Story

Meet Vetiveah Immanuel

Vetiveah Immanuel is a dynamic speaker, regenerative agriculture nutritionist, food justice advocate, educator, entrepreneur, and messenger of the Gospel. With more than a decade of experience at the intersection of public health, nutrition, agriculture, and community development, Vetiveah has become a passionate voice for food justice and food sovereignty. Known for bridging the gap between food, land, health, and social equity, she brings a powerful combination of lived experience, practical expertise, and purpose-driven leadership to every stage.

From her beginnings as a 16-year-old urban farm apprentice in Chicago to her work advancing food sovereignty across Connecticut, Vetiveah has dedicated her career to challenging inequities in food access and empowering people to reclaim their relationship with food and the land. Her engaging, thought-provoking approach challenges audiences to look beyond what is on their plates and examine the systems, policies, and decisions that shape how communities grow, access, and experience food.

As founder of Vetiveah LLC, Vetiveah brings her expertise to schools, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, government agencies, and institutions through keynote speaking, consulting, education, and strategic partnerships. Throughout her career, she has worked with organizations including FoodCorps, CitySeed, Greater Chicago Food Depository, and Green Village Initiative, developing culturally relevant nutrition education, farm-to-school initiatives, community gardens, food entrepreneurship programs, and wellness experiences.

Vetiveah is also the founder of Radiance Gardens, co-founder of Liberated Land Cooperative, and co-founder of the Connecticut Food Sovereignty Collective. Her contributions to food justice, community wellness, and agricultural education have earned recognition at the federal, state, and municipal levels, including recognition from the Office of U.S. Senator Chris Murphy and the City of New London. She has also contributed her expertise to boards, steering committees, and statewide initiatives focused on advancing equitable food systems.

Grounded in faith and driven by a commitment to justice, Vetiveah is on a mission to transform the way individuals, institutions, and communities think about food, health, land, and power—helping build a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
