This community event will highlight the cultural connection between West African and Louisiana cuisine, featuring the tasting of two iconic rice dishes, Jollof and Jambalaya. The evening will also include a food history presentation, storytelling, and cultural reflection, honoring the shared roots, resilience, and creativity within these cultures.
Guests can expect an evening of warmth, reflection, and connection, where food becomes a bridge between history and community. Together, we’ll explore how one iconic dish traveled across the Transatlantic through generations, evolving from West African kitchens to Southern tables, yet preserving the flavors, spirit, and story of a people.
