Give your child a fun week of hands-on gardening! Food Justice Gardening will take campers on an adventure of growing food, exploring nature, harvesting fresh produce, preparing simple recipes, and discovering where food comes from through engaging outdoor activities. Along the way, they’ll build confidence, make new friends, and learn how gardens help create healthier communities.
Perfect for homeschool students in grades 3–8. No gardening experience needed! Parents are highly encouraged to participate as well.
What to Expect
We will be outdoors in a community garden space in New Haven. Each day campers will enjoy hands-on activities such as:

Your child’s registration includes five days of hands-on gardening, food justice education, cooking activities, all program materials, and a take-home garden project. Campers will gain practical skills, confidence, and a deeper connection to food, health, and the environment.

Weather-appropriate clothing (we’ll be outdoors!)
Hat, big spray, sunscreen (recommended)
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Camp concludes at 12:00 PM each day. Campers will be dismissed for lunch and should bring their own packed lunch if they plan to eat immediately after pickup.
